“His architecture was endlessly adaptable, leaving the archaeological traces of each generation.” Decimus Burton
“Aims to create a Unique journey for the people.” - Mokena Makeka
“Wished to create a service to the public. Everybody has a right to experience good design.” Mokena Makeka
Selecting these quotes influenced the design of the UNSW light rail stop through emphasising the importance of making each structure unique and bold to enhances individual’s journeys. Through these quotes, the structural intention was to create a flow between each section of the tram stop. Focusing on sharp points, from the ramp of the main walkway to the roof and pillars, this allows for consistency amongst the design aiming for that unique, well-designed experience.

A light texture has been applied to the frontage of the light rail stop, each dot symbolises individuality and being different, which coincides with Mokena Makeka's concept of creating a unique journey for people.
Solar panels have been placed on the roof in order to make it more sustainable and lower the cost of electricity thus creating a more economically friendly stop which can use the energy produced by the panels.

Incorporating a ramp as the main access to the station makes its a sustainable design through allowing everyone the ability to reach the station.
The medium texture on the rails of the ramp is based on the ever-changing world we live in represented through the varying curves, which relates back to Burton's quote of "...leaving the archaeological traces of each generation.”

The dark texture was applied to the inside of the roof, the sharp lines coincide with the main concept of the structure as well as being inspired by many of Mokena Makeka's works which often feature multiple sharp objects to add in as a design element.
The trees in the background were included in the landscape to provide shade and cleaner air around the area
